Hopscotch

The Purposeful Walk

Pearl Street Park is one of the few places in Brooklyn still here today.

Kids spent their days playing at the park. They brought toys from home and made toys with things they found. They made music together, built playhouses, made up new games, and revived old circle songs. Kids made new friends and met up with friends from school and the YMCA. These hand-drawn hopscotches are a reminder of the simple joys of children playing.
