This statement discloses the policies and privacy practices for the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African American Arts+Culture ("HBGC") website. In an effort to build users' trust and confidence, the HBGC promotes the principles of disclosure and informed consent. The HBGC has a commitment to users' privacy and thus discloses its policies on data collecting, uses and sharing of information. The HBGC may capture implicit information from users who visit the website for aggregate statistical analysis and site customization. Implicit information is data that can be gathered about users without having to explicitly ask a user for such information. Importantly, aggregate statistical analysis means that the HBGC reviews trends based on information as a whole, but does not do so in an effort to identify the individual identity of a user to its site.
The HBGC may solicit e-mail for site feedback, information requests, and contribution information. Users may choose to submit such information at their own discretion. In all cases, the HBGC does not disclose any personal identifying information to third parties.
IP addresses are logged to track visitors to the website. An IP address is the unique numerical identity of your host computer. When the HBGC "logs" an IP address, it means that the HBGC website associates a visit or series of visits to that unique numerical identity.
The HBGC website may contain links to other websites that are not under our control. These links are provided as a convenience, and such links do not imply that the HBGC endorses such sites. The HBGC is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.
THESE TERMS SHALL GOVERN YOUR USE OF THE HBGC WEBSITE. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE. THIS SERVICE AND THE CONTENT FROM OR THROUGH THIS WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS," AND THE HBGC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, TITLE OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE, OR TRADE PRACTICE. THE HBGC MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS REGARDING THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF THE INFORMATION. NEITHER THE HBGC OR ITS LICENSORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CONTENTS OF ANY LINKED SITE OR ANY LINK CONTAINED IN A LINKED SITE. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE HBGC OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE TO A LICENSEE OR A THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, AND THE LIKE ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OF THIS WEBSITE, EVEN IF THE HBGC AND/OR ITS LICENSORS HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
