About This Program
Join the Gantt for a teaser monologue from Three Bone Theater's latest production The Glorious World of Crowns, Kinks and Curls, express yourself in a reflective writing workshop, and contribute to a discussion on the unique yet unifying journey every Black woman has with her hair.
This program combines theater, self-care writing, and dialogue to create a space for a topic so close to Black women of all generations. The Glorious World of Crowns, Kinks and Curls explores the lives of several Black women-identified characters in the context of beauty, identity, and growth - ultimately revealing how hair is intertwined with it all.
As guests take in the monologue performance, they'll be guided to write their reactions and correlations, and candidly share their own hair journeys. During the conversation, the team who brought The Glorious World of Crowns, Kinks and Curls to life will share the process of creating the show, and express why this topic is so important to our history and sense of identity.
