About This Program
This session is the second of Dark & Divine's figure art series at the Gantt. We invite participants to an elevated drawing experience featuring partially clothed Black figure models and sonic spirit master Xāi. This guided experience, led by instructor Ida Mae, positions Black models in artistic, cultural, and divine expressions and staging.
This workshop complements the Gantt's newest exhibition, Becoming The Sea: Black Rock Senegal x Harvey B. Gantt Center. Guests are encouraged to view the exhibition during their visit.
Art supplies are included with your registration, however, you may bring your own. Proof of age is required to participate.

About Dark & Divine
Dark & Divine is a collaborative artist model experience designed and developed by figure model and creative entrepreneur Dasia Hood for the Black community.
The experience makes appreciation and expressions of Black nudity and representations of Black bodies in art accessible through education and exposure. Using figurative art and creative writing as vehicles, Hood collaborates with artists and arts organizations to produce a figurative series, including workshops, discussions, and exhibitions.
