  • About This Program

In proud celebration of our 50th anniversary, the "Gantt Golden Year," we are excited to present the Jazzy: Gantt Golden Gala on Saturday, December 7 at the Charlotte Convention Center. The gala features the Grammy®, Stellar, and NAACP Image Award-winning musical ensemble, Sounds of Blackness!

This elegant black-tie affair is the culmination of our yearlong celebration of Black joy, genius, and excellence – honoring the Gantt's founding in 1974. We look forward to honoring our founders with the Spirit of the Center award for "Community" along with our other 2024 Spirit of the Center award winners.

Your support is critical as the Gantt embarks upon our vision for the next fifty years, to bring renowned African diaspora giants – artists, culture keepers, scholars, and thinkers – to Charlotte; to increase access, and to champion and present our extraordinary Black Carolina creatives to the world.

We invite you to revel in the spirit of the season with friends, old and new, as we celebrate a monumental year and the Gantt's 50-year mission of presenting excellence in the art, history, and culture of African Americans and the African diaspora. Join us to feast on the finest of Black culture. We look forward to toasting the finale of a remarkable anniversary year and the launch of our bright future.
