About This Program
Join us in celebration of Charlotte's emerging filmmakers! Experience an evening filled with extraordinary storytelling through the lens of Julius Chambers High School students whose original documentaries range from personal stories, to triumphs, to future dreams.
Enjoy the night with the premiere of documentaries created by participants from the Gantt's EnVision Me program. Envision Me seeks to cultivate student creativity by designing culturally rich, project-oriented experiences. Students will present their personal stories through short films created during this 12-week program. Friends, family and community are invited to support these students and the heart of storytelling, with a wonderful reception to follow.
Applaud the youth of Charlotte by viewing the EnVision Me premiere film screening of rising creatives from local Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools! If you have questions, please contact us at education@ganttcenter.org.

About EnVision Me
EnVision Me is a 12-week project that uses the arts to empower and educate youth. The Gantt has partnered with Julius L. Chambers High School to offer filmmaking instruction to a cohort of 20 interested and invested students. This cohort is learning every step of film production via a blend of virtual and on-site sessions.
Students have access to state-of-the-art equipment and educators to learn the basics of filmmaking, from scriptwriting and cinematography, to editing and film treatment. The course includes two 1.5-hour sessions a week, and weekly homework assignments. The final product of the EnVision Me project is a short film that the cohort will show to family, friends, and the Charlotte community at the Gantt Center.
Your support helps the Gantt present exceptional exhibitions, leading scholars and engaging programs that celebrate the African-American story.
