Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture is excited to announce the addition of Sharrell Janvier as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
Janvier is a seasoned servant-leader with more than 15 years of success and leadership in non-profit and government management. She has led equity-focused fundraising and business development initiatives in violence prevention, child welfare, early childhood education, juvenile/criminal justice, and commercial construction.
Before joining the Gantt, she worked for Carolinas AGC Foundations in Charlotte, NC, and Union League Club, An Ounce of Prevention, and Cook County Justice Advisory Council in Chicago, IL. Janvier's life's work is focused on amplifying the voices of the underserved, "mining" communities for solutions, and leveraging philanthropy to support those grassroots solutions.
"Sharrell's broad experience and success in fundraising, and her enthusiasm for the Gantt's mission, places her in a strong position to help guide our strategic development and future growth,” stated the Harvey B. Gantt Center's President and CEO Bonita Buford.
Janvier received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology and Master of Social Work Advocacy, Leadership & Social Change from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and currently lives in Tega Cay, South Carolina.
"I am excited to join the dedicated and dynamic team at the Gantt Center. I look forward to advancing the Center's mission and vision. It's inspiring to see how the Gantt is shaping culture and driving social change through its art and community programs," stated Janvier.
As vice president of institutional advancement, Janvier will focus on fundraising, institutional growth and development, corporate and organizational partnerships, and stakeholder relationships.
