    Be among the first in Charlotte to view a new exhibition commissioned by the Harvey B. Gantt Center and experience the latest addition to our permanent collection. Enjoy a preview of Welcome to Brookhill, the latest work by image activist Alvin C. Jacobs, Jr.

    Jumpstart your weekend with an evening of music, networking, cocktails and conversation as we celebrate our common humanity through the arts.

    Artist talk with Image Activist Alvin C. Jacobs, Jr.

    Alvin will share about the process of creating the Welcome to Brookhill exhibition as well as his process as a photographer and image activist. Learn what led him to photography and the way he uses the camera to capture moments in various movements around the country.

    Following his talk, Alvin will lead attendees through a guided tour of the exhibit. Welcome to Brookhill explores the stories and faces behind Charlotte’s conversation about the need for affordable housing.

    The Situationship Circle is a chill new talk show on the UrbanSocial TV network that invites viewers to watch and join in on the conversations of rising millennials who in most cases have never met before, to discuss their viewpoints on intimate topics like: relationships, sexuality, politics, religion, careers, and so much more-- in an effort to encourage healing, understanding, and a platform where people can speak their truth.
